THE six Highlands CWA branches gathered at Bundanoon CWA rooms on Saturday to discuss upcoming events.

Up for discussion were the events each branch either has done or will be holding during the coming year.

Speakers from Bowral, Exeter, Mittagong, Moss Vale, Southern Highlands Evening and Bundanoon branches discussed their individual branch plans. Those attending represented the near-250 members living in the Highlands.

CWA group president, Jennifer Bowe, discussed the changes set to take place in the Wollondilly Group.

Ms Bowe said her talk sparked much conversation as to the future of the Wollondilly Group, “and CWA in general, as we continue to evolve to meet modern community needs”.

CWA group international officer Aliki Darlow offered to coordinate a Highlands-wide promotion of CWA early in 2017, and group treasurer Ailsa Miller also addressed the group on necessary procedures and processes.

Ms Bowe said the Bundanoon branch hosted a delicious afternoon tea, which was enjoyed by all.

“Our Gathering allows members to catch up with everyone from other branches,” she said.

“And of course much talking and laughter was the order of the day.”

Ms Bowe said the strength of CWA came from its members and their individual contribution.

“This in turn becomes more powerful when that input combines with others in a branch, and when branches combine even greater achievements can be produced for the community,” she said.

“The Gathering is our process for bringing the Highland branches together, to make sure we don’t stumble over each other in our enthusiasm.”

Call your local CWA branch for membership enquiries, or if you need an after hours branch, contact the Southern Highlands Evening branch.
