There’s a lot to celebrate this year at Contour College as the spotlight shines brightly on their brand new college.

CELEBRATING 21 years in business on the Central Coast, the Tuggerah-based hair and beauty college has just commenced a major expansion project which will double the size of the existing premises and allow for the introduction of new and exciting course offerings in 2016.

In response to an overwhelming increase in enrolment inquiries, plans were drawn up to expand the existing college site.

NEW COURSE: The Diploma of Screen and Media (Specialising in Makeup) offers students the chance to enter the exciting world of TV, film and entertainment.

“We have put some strategies in place to allow us to meet a growing need for additional classes and an enhanced learning space at the college,”college director and chief executive officerAnnaliesje Hartley said.

“We like to keep our class sizes small which means they fill up very quickly.

“This expansion will give many more students the opportunity to study and develop their careers with us.”

The new site will complement the existing structure with the addition of a new student hair salon which will be open to the public.

Students under supervision of qualified trainers will offer salon services at greatly reduced prices.

Upgradedstudent facilities will provide a dual-purpose, indoor/outdoor student dining and study area with a kitchen, bathroom and WiFi facilities.

Students will benefit from the addition of a professional photographic studio.

This will be an asset to students learning the finer techniques of makeup and lighting for photography and assist them to build their professional portfolios.

A team of new trainers have joined the college and are set to benefit from the addition of a quiet zone and trainers’ staff room.

A multimedia lecture theatre equipped with state-of-the-art technology will be utilised for presentations by guest speakers and industry experts who visit the college.

Smaller training rooms will provide ideal venues for the popular short courses and evening classes.

The expansion and growth of Contour College has opened new doors to a range of exciting training opportunities allowing students to enrol in the all-new Diploma of Screen and Media.

Offered for the first time, this dynamic new course offers students specialised skills focusing on the hair and makeup techniques they need to work in the exciting world of TV, movies and entertainment.

Contour College is VET Fee Help approved and students enrolling in diploma courses may be eligible to apply.
