Todd McPharlin and Sam Rowland cracked tons atBalaklavaon Saturday setting up a 170-run victory for Lower North over Long Plains.

Lower North made full use of the bright conditions after winning the toss with McPharlin and Rowland enjoying a commanding partnership before they were both dismissed with the total on 230, McPharlin for 115 and Rowland for 101.

Chasing quick runs in the closing overs the locals suffered a couple of run outs but a formidable target was set with Dave Kaminski the standout bowler for the visitors.

Lower North 6 for 249 after 45 overs.

Kaminski took 3 for 39 off 6 overs with onemaiden and Jamie McArdle 1 for 33 off 9 with a maiden.

The Long Plains reply could’ve been more dismal than it was if it wasn’t for Robbie Bushell compiling 32 runs with the remaining batsmen showing little resistance and Lower North were massive winners by 170 runs.

Long Plains all out for 79 in the 29thover.

The wickets were spread around with Jordan Taylor returning the impressive figures of 3 for 14 off 7 with 3 maidens, Chris Marshall, Caleb McPhain and Zac Zilm took 2 and Tim Goldney one.

This week, Lower North will play Sevenhill at Balaklava and Long Plains will play Brinkworth/Koolunga at Long Plains.
