THE Wests Tigers will return to the Highlands today, February 17.

A group of players from the NRL club will visit schools throughout region to promote rugby league.

The Tigers are scheduled to visit Bowral, Exeter, Hill Top, Moss Vale and Robertson public schools, Moss Vale High School, Southern Highlands Christian School, St Michael’s Catholic Primary School, Tudor House School and St Paul’s Primary School, Moss Vale.

NRL game development officer for Sydney West Jake Brightwell said the full Tigers squad would be out and about across the Group 6 Country Rugby League (CRL) region.

The Group 6 incorporates rugby league clubs in the Southern Highlands.

Brightwell said it was a boon for the Tigers to visit the region.

“The Tigers will be visiting 70 schools and seeing 22,000 students across the Group 6 area,” he said.

“We won’t know which players are going where until the day.”

Brightwell said the school visits would look at issues such as well-being for players.

“It will focus on the importance of hydration, sleep and belonging,” he said.

Following the Tigers visit, a come and try rugby league clinic will be held at Moss Vale’s Community Oval on Thursday, February 18.

The event will be run by the NRL from 4pm but won’t feature Wests Tigers players.
