Young drunk gets fined for belligerence

A TEENAGER who threatened to kill a bouncer’s daughter at a pool hall while drunk has been banned fromlicensed premises for 12 months.

Che Gibbs, 19, of Cramer Street inWarrnambool, pleadedguiltyin theWarrnamboolMagistrates Court to unlawful assault, being drunk and acting prejudicial to the good running of a police jail.

He was fined $300 and banned from licensed premises except when in the presence of his mother to attend family functions.

Police told the courtGibbs was in the Your Break Pool Hall about 11pm on September 5 when a security guard heard him talking loudly to the venue manager.The manager had requested Gibbs leave the premises and whenthe security guard moved in to assist,Gibbs punched the guard to the head.

When being removed from the venue, Gibbs tried to lie down in the staircase and it took a number of peopleto remove him.

Gibbs made threats to the security guard and his children, saying he was going to kill the man’s daughter.

When police officers arrived, Gibbs struggled and continued yelling abuse.He tried to choke himself with his T-shirt in a police cell.
